Application Support Specialist Team Leader

Software development company seeks a Bachelor of Compuer Sciences / Information Technology grad with a minimum of 3 years experience, to handle the day-to-day management of the Application Support Team. As an Application Support Specialist, the candidate would also be responsible for the first line support and maintenance of the company software systems which are currently in production.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Team Management
o Reporting on team activities to management
o Goal setting for team members, managing performance reviews
o Responsibility for Application Support Team meeting requirements per service level agreements
o Running daily/weekly team meetings
o Assigning tasks
o Ensure team runs efficiently
o Manage documentation based on team activities

• First line call resolution (Training and Support of Staff)
o Provide first line support on all production clients in a timely manner as outlined by company service level agreements
o Log queries related to clients via ticket management support desk
o Process change requests
o Diagnose and problem resolution on software issues, including software compatibility issues, disk space issues on virtual machines, ability to debug processing issues on servers.

o Statistics

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelors in Computer Sciences or Information Technology

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Background in ASP.Net (C#, XML, JS and CSS is required in some cases)
• Knowledge SQL Querying / SSIS / Master Data is not required, but can be useful
• Ability to debug where code intervention is required
• Management and leadership skills

• Good organisational and planning skills, including effective time management and ability to stick to deadlines
• Work well under pressure for extended periods of time
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to prioritise
• Good communication – written and verbal
