Construction Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor

Fantastic opportunity exists within a very successful Property Management / Development company for an experienced Project manager who can oversee new developments.  Identify, plan and manage the implementation of the project, manage the development projects and provide technical support to the contractors.  Min 10 years experience in a similar role, plus a qualification in Building / Civils / QS essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the total project life cycle from conception to completion
  • Facilitate the development of a clear brief
  • Clearly define the roles and responsibilities of the consulting team
  • Represent the developer and the Principle Architect on site.
  • Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources
  • Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and the programme control and project management
  • Oversees other project support activities, such as quality assurance, configuration control, project interface, environmental mitigation monitoring, systems integration, property and right-of-way acquisition, administration of interagency agreements, contracts administration and procurement, community relations, and management and administrative services support
  • Monitors budget and schedule performance, implements cost and schedule control procedures, and implements elements of the quality assurance program

Desired Experience & Qualification

BSc Degree or BTech Degree or Diploma in the Built Environment

Ideal: Professional Membership with registered accreditation body

Knowledge and understanding of the Basic Principles of Law of Contracts

Solid Knowledge and understanding of Construction Contracts

Solid Knowledge of Construction Science

Solid Knowledge of Construction Processes

Solid Knowledge of Design Processes

Solid Knowledge of Financial  and Cost Processes

Solid Knowledge of regulations relating to the built environment industry

Minimum: 10years’ experience or more in the built environment of which 7 years’ experience or more in construction project management
